I'm Andy, and I'm Running for Joy.
In 2013, Joy's House celebrates their 13th year. In honor of that major milestone, in April 2012, I set out to run 13 half marathons (13.1 miles each) over 13 months with a goal of raising $13,000 for Joy's House.
You know what they say about "best laid plans." And just like they say, the plans went astray. In October, I underwent surgery for compartment syndrome on my right leg. Despite that setback, I still intend to complete 13 half marathons, although it will take a bit longer than 13 months. Hope to finish the 13th half in 2013, ideally culminating with the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon in November. See the latest schedule here.
On the other hand, the goal of raising $13,000 was blown away in less than six months! One plan that went happily astray. Every dollar goes to the Joy's House Guest Scholarship program, which needs our support more than ever. So what do we do when we hit one goal? We set a new one. The goal now is to raise $26,000 by the end of 2013, and I can use your help!
